From 18th to 22nd of November, 2013, we held at CIBION The Workshop on the Advances of Super-resolution Optical Microscopy.

Methodologies of super-resolution optical microscopy, also known as far-field optical nanoscopy, constitute the future of fluorescence microscopy and bioimaging. This Workshop gathered over 50 graduate students, postdocs and researchers, from various fields such as Biology, Biochemistry, Biomedicine, Chemistry, and Physics, interested in learning the fundamentals and latest developments of fluorescence nanoscopy.

It was a wonderful meeting with a rich program that included:

  • two days of introductory theoretical lectures
  • demonstrations in the lab
  • a workshop for applications and collaborations
  • two days of lectures given by renowned international experts, including our collaboration partner and pioneer of fluorescence nanoscopy Prof. Dr. Stefan W. Hell.
