From November 4th to 7th, as one of our main activities of the Federal Network of Super-resolution Microscopy, we organized the second edition of FOMISUR (Formación en Microscopía de Super‑Resolución), a hands‑on training workshop dedicated to the principles and applications of super‑resolution fluorescence microscopy. The event brought together students, researchers, and technicians from across Argentina and neighboring countries, reflecting the growing regional interest in advanced optical microscopy techniques.
FOMISUR combined theoretical lectures, laboratory sessions, and scientific talks by invited experts. Participants received practical training in state‑of‑the‑art methods such as STED and single‑molecule localization microscopy (SMLM), worked directly with research‑grade nanoscopy instruments, and discussed experimental design, labeling strategies, and data analysis.
The workshop also served as a forum for scientific exchange, fostering interaction between participants and leading researchers in the field, and strengthening collaborative links within the regional super‑resolution microscopy community.
We are grateful to all speakers, instructors, and participants who contributed to making FOMISUR a highly stimulating and successful event. We look forward to future editions and to continuing the development of super-resolution microscopy in the region.
